I also love the fact that he looks like he's permanently stoned, both on and off the pitch. His interviews are brilliant. Absolutely on another planet most of the time. Yet his footballing brain is so far ahead of most other people's it's unreal.

I agree. Though I suspect Vickers, Kelly and Cleary will all chip in with a few. Even if they only get 7 each, that more than replaces Russell's contribution.

I don’t think he concerns himself with anything beyond his own bubble. He’s a member of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A Mormon basically.

Definitely a unique fella. I enjoyed his company. Not met many folk who oozed just complete chill. Fair play to him. Plays football as it should be played. But I appreciate why some folk see differently.

After his penalty the other night I expected him to sit in the centre circle with a pint of Guiness and a Park Drive.

I like Russell but I prefer Phillips. If we had to sell one of them I know which one I'd keep.

Exactly this, having a stronger squad makes it easier to pick ‘horses for courses’ which of course isn’t a new tactic in football.

On Twitter, way back when, I described the music my mate's band played as "latter-day indie-pop". After which I got a new follower - the official Twitter account of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

True, if not very funny, story.
