This…..and their fans suddenly giving it large and getting a sense of entitlement.

I don't get the dislike to Wrexham one bit, a relatively small club who've had a couple of rich guys come in and pump money into them, using a model with the documentary that other clubs have copied.
They've gained huge fame and generated big money in the U.S , think their last accounts showed a 27m turnover, they haven't been pumped with Saudi oil money.
Having suffered some pretty hard times where their existence has been in doubt they are now enjoying a glittering chapter in their long history, but it seems people begrudge them that and they've shouldn't be allowed to spend money to gain success, there is a notion that you can only rise through the leagues spending 10p to be be classed as doing it correctly, which is absolute nonsense in this day and age.

Comes to bitterness and jealousy if you ask me, they've rattled a few clubs who've had their noses pushed out and fans don't like it, but will glady watch some greedy PL team being pumped with dirty Saudi oil money.

Good luck to them I say, some clubs would like to be in their position and they'd be lying if they said otherwise.

    2 things there.

1.You might feel jealous, but you’re not speaking for all fans.

    2. The majority of clubs that have had big investment, were already big, well supported top flight clubs. If Money wasn’t a thing, they would still be the best clubs, for the most part.

Why would I be jealous and say I don't get the dislike towards them and argue their cause wishing them well?
Secondly are we only allowed to have big clubs that have success by spending money? So if we were taken over by by owners who wanted to spend money and we got to the PL would it not count the same as a big club?
Money is everything now within the game like it or not.
Like I said they've rattled clubs and people think they aren't deserving of their success because it's a small club outspending some of the so called big boys, how dare they threaten the heiracy.

I think it’s been brilliant for Wrexham fans who virtually define the word long suffering. I think a seasoning consolidation ahead and nothing wrong with that.

I think you’re envious of them, and that explains why you think others might be, but it’s not the case. I loved BFC getting to the Prem, and our other achievements, and that our gates are ok without celebrity owners.

I don’t think they’re threatening anything, let alone a ‘heiracy’. They’re just coming in, buying support and popularity which the club could never have done off its own back. Actually I’ll take that back. If Wrexham, Reading, Brentford & Wigan fans had turned out in the same numbers prior to the money, they probably wouldn’t have needed a sugar daddy to save them in the first place.

I know there are people on here who would gladly see us go the same way, but im not one of them. I’m not jealous of anything that’s manufactured.

I’ve got a nice prestige car. It’s 10 yrs old but it’s paid for. If my neighbour had a brand new one on the tick, I wouldn’t be envious. That’s how I see life and football as well.

But they’re not in the Prem, and we didn’t get to the Prem by the same route.

To be honest, I was aiming it as much at the likes of Reading and Wigan fans who suddenly seem to think they’re natural level is high end Championship/ low end Prem. Both were perennial lower league until their sugar daddies came along.

Which ones? Their fans had all but deserted them. The vast majority of their current fans don’t know anything but success.

If we’re talking ‘long suffering’ you could be talking about any number of clubs fans really. It’s not really suffering. It’s supporting your local club with little hope of ever achieving much.

Again I'm happy for them I'm not sure why you'd think otherwise having defended their corner.
Just for context their turnover of 26.7m for 23/24 season in L2 was higher than 19 clubs in the championship that year.
Your making it sound like other smaller clubs aren't deserving of success if they don't have a big fanbase and spend money to get there, not a cat in hells chance a club is going to rise through the leagues now without spending money, the days of Wimbledon, Watford etc doing organically are consigned to the past.
Let's just close up the Premier League for big well supported clubs and not allow anybody to gain promotion or have aspirations and ambition that doesn't do it organically on ten bob.

Went to Reading on the last day of last season. Over 20,000 expectant fans turned up sniffing a go at the playoffs. I find it hilarious that the Town can muster up such support when they’re doing well, but idly stepped away when they were on the verge of extinction at Elm Park.

Im not saying you’re not happy for them. I’m saying I think you’re a bit envious because you’re happy for and would be accepting of us going down the same route, as you think it’s ok, and that’s where we differ.

Luton got to the prem without being frivolous, and they’re not gambling on getting back up. I’ve no problem with them, so no - let’s not close the premier league to other clubs, because it might be harder to get up without spending, but not impossible. We almost did it under Val very recently.

Spot on and I would love someone to take over our club similar to what has happened with them. Although their results are iffy at the moment it is still a good time to be a Wrexham fan, good luck to em.

I think it’s quite astonishing that some still champion the sugar daddy route, even in hindsight of the problems it’s brought to some clubs door, and seeing how quickly those glory fans have disappeared back into the woodwork when their clubs fell back on hard times.

So would you turn down a big investment into BFC if whoever it was past all due diligence and fit and proper checks pal?

We don’t need to. We haven’t fallen into the 5th tier and had an average gate of 2600. We’ve just had 2 playoffs from last 3 seasons, and one in the Championship.

Yea and I’d be happy for any of them. You just come across as bitter and jealous. Hope they get promoted again.
