No idea if this has legs or if its even true but I've been told Preston are sniffing about. possibly a double swoop 2 out of 3 Russel and DkD and Phillips been mentioned in the same breath
    Apart from that
It's 2 more out of the door this week (loans) and that we are also looking at bringing 3 if not 4 more bodies in before the window shuts
    Thought id share
Maybe LucaB can throw more light on it if he's heard anything

Don't think we can afford to send to more out -Smith maybe but don't think we can afford anyone else

I don't really know who else we could send out on loan realistically? Possibly Gent when he's back from his injury, as we have Ogbeta, Ferrugia and Earl when Roberts is back, there. Unless he means younger players, like Farrell, Woodcock, etc. Possibly Nwakali?

We have a good chance of a successful season this year. Really hoping it’s not snatched away from us the last week in August.

Carrying on with the word ambition, this can be down to buying and selling players, and also not selling them.
And I admit they don't just sell up anymore to the first offer, and haven't done for a few years.
Last year we finally signed Keillor Dunn, at the end of August. And it will be just as good this time for example, if we can keep hold of him.

Heard Preston were looking at Russell weeks ago. Not sure they would be able to afford dkd unless we're selling cheap.

This next two weeks will be key to knowing if the owners believe in our chances to perform in the top 2, 6, just stay in the league or if survival (and only survival) are the priorities. I agree it will be measured by who we keep, who we let go and who we sign. People will judge it differently but would hope we keep the core squad, add a centre half and a striker min. Happy to let the likes of Nkwali and a few youngsters on loan.

I’d rather not lose anyone and certainly not DKD. However, with the squad we have I think we can afford to lose one of Phillips and Russell. We’ll miss what they offer (Philips especially) but if we’re going to sell a player to bring money in then midfield is the only area on the pitch where we have sufficient strength in depth.

Can see Smith and possibly Farrugia going out on loan if we are signing another winger.
Much as I like Russell we probably have to sell him as Conor clearly doesn’t trust him in the new set up. Plus he’s in his last year. Problem is I doubt we’d get more than £1m and is that enough if we’re trying to balance the books?
Can’t see anyone paying what we’re asking for DKD and Phillips looks like he’s got his mojo back this season. A goal and two assists in first 3 games. Need to keep him if we can.

If we have to sell someone, hopefully it’s Russell. But it’d feel harsh on Conor to sell any of DKD, Phillips or Connell at this point - he’s demonstrated that we can do really well with them this season.
I expected one of them to leave earlier in the window. But now? It’d feel like a blow.

Was told this morning Ipswich have enquired about DKD. Just sold Hutchinson to Forest for 35m, we should be looking at 10-15m in today's market

Of the names mentioned Russell appears to be the one on the fringe. Connell, DKD and Phillips all appear to be integral to the formation with Bland and Yonganathan coming through. Also Kelly offering another option makes a place for Russell look increasingly distant..

We all feed somebody there's maybe half dozen clubs in the world that don't. I think Russell is as good as gone he clearly doesn't suit the new style of play let's hope some rates him enough to pay good money for him. The other two are bit more tricky but I don't think either are ideally suited to it either dkd is no wingers or centre forward and I can see Kelly playing the role Phillips plays. I'm not saying I want all three sold but with a few more in it wouldn't be the end of the world

If the club could eek mega daft money out of someone for DKD, then happy days. And seeing as Jon is not even getting starts, and into his final contracted season, he’d be most likely too.

But I’ve seen and heard nothing in terms of any interest or bids for either player, so who knows.

I doubt the huge hole in the club finances has been plugged, so I’m fully expecting something to happen.

Heard nothing mate a rumour that Williams was sat in east stand Saturday wouldn’t be shocked if Russell left can’t see DKD going cos we want silly money and not alot of teams are gonna fork that out as for Phillips he gets linked with Preston every 6 months so take it with a pinch of salt

Nwakali should be departing this week or next club ideally wanted permanent but loan deal looks most likely with full wages covered, been on the burner for sometime.

What do you mean by "silly money"? There's a rumour going round that we rejected £5 million, but the powers that be must have a valuation in their heads. Anything over £6 million and they'd surely have to start seriously considering it? If the Ipswich rumour is true then we might get a bit more. But we're moving into the realms of absurdity then, and much as I rate DKD, I'd suggest we'd be barking not to take such an offer if it were to come in.
