Ugly win and we made hard work of it and although it’s great to get the clean sheet tonight again proved we are desperate for a decent no nonsense centre half before the window shuts.

Agreed, but really pleasing that we're creating a lot of chances for him. We definitely look more threatening just wish we were more clinical

Another game we've made hard work of, but another game we've ended up winning. Far too many times in the last 2 seasons we'd have drawn or lost that game tonight. Whilst Posh did have a couple of decent chances, I think the better ones fell to us. With better finishing, we could have won that game more comfortably tonight. We're still a few players short, and no secret has been made about wanting to strengthen further, so hopefully Conor will have everything he needs by the 1st September, and we can go from strength to strength.

‘Making hard work of it’ tonight is exactly how I would describe it. Chances missed, wayward passing, but in the end a thoroughly deserved win

I don’t think we made necessarily hard work of it, yes, we missed some chances but by far the best team on the night and the stats prove it.

We’ve made giant progress this season already. Even if it’s just mindset (there’s more to it than that) but who would have thought passing it forwards makes more chances and creates more wins as a result.

I don't recognise the 'made hard work of it' consensus. I thought we looked a level above, didn't get out of (and never needed to) 2nd gear & look about 318273736% better than last season.

    I f.cking love the man.

Off it in the first-half but I thought Luca was excellent in the second.

A game we should have won more comfortably, but the clean sheet is welcome. 3 pts, move on to the weekend.

Agree with all of that but you can’t help being tense with only a one-goal lead and the ref determined to play until the home team get an undeserved equaliser. A 1-6 scoreline would have been more realistic but we just weren’t clinical enough. No one can complain that we’ve bagged yet another away win though

There's a difference of being tense and making hard work of a game though I suppose is my point. Never felt worried.

Agree with this mate. I was getting a bit concerned at times when Earl was pillocking around with it and just thought it would have been a great shame had we conceded as we were much the better side in the second half. Which we 100% would have done last year.

I see the makings of a top 6 side here.

I think Kelly did very little in the first half, but improved a lot in the second. Russell looked so assured, as always, in his sub appearance. It seems amazing that a player of his class does not get a starting spot.
