You should be used to it with the amount of London derbies your number 1 club have to play every season.
I’m not sure how the young uns view them today, but they were something special back in the days of the ‘football special’. Even trips to Grim on Sea were a bit tasty. Winning away at a local rival was a huge thing, and form often went out of the window. Not sure they’re as much of a thing these days.
If you lived in Dodworth (for example) Huddersfield is 18 miles distant, same as Donny. Only 3 miles more than Sheffield. it also shares a direct train line.
I live in Swadlincote so Burton is my local Derby. Derby would be a Derby as well but Derby are in the Championship unfortunately.
For me they are the A303 Derbies Not sure where 12 derbies come from Rotherham and Donny are local Derbies You could argue Huddersfield and Bradford as York derbies but they aren't really derbies for me as for Lincoln its over 50 miles away how is that a derby
I was only suggesting my point of view. We are allowed to disagree. Some of us live in the East of the borough and some of us in the West, very different orientations dependant on whom you meet on a day to day basis. Personally I’ve had very little dealings with Millers fans… ever…. But I went to school with a lot of terriers. I now live in East Yorkshire and the Tigers fans often tell me that they see us as a Derby match…. Wishful thinking in my eyes mind…
