He is a complete bell. He is very aggressive in interviews and won’t listen to anything that criticises his beloved orange blimp

Out of all of the MAGA mouth pieces, including Trump, I find Gorka the most nauseating. His attitude, his voice and his evil, ugly face. Karoline Leavitt takes some beating as well, but she’s still very young, and will still have many years to face once Trumps gone. People won’t forget her complicity.

It was only the other day he slipped up by saying Putin had been telling him how mail in ballots are a way to rig an election.

Gerrymandering has been around for decades, both the Democrats and Republicans have, in my opinion, abused it for their own gain.

Congress should've passed legislation years ago, but they never will, because none of them truly care about fairness, just about keeping the upper hand.

This is why I respect 0 republicans and a handful, if that, of Democrats. Boy who cried wolf. Similar to the Epstein files, prominent Democrats all quiet on them until orange dicktator returns to power and suddenly its their number one issue. Same with Israel, stop the funding, stop the genocide, meanwhile Biden was doing his fair share of indirect murder. Thankfully, on the Israel/Palestine issue, there has always been a few prominent Democrats standing up for whats right. Ironically, alot of the commentators on the right are against Israel too, just a shame their puppet masters aren't.

I despise politics. It turns seemingly decent people into absolute scum. Unfortunately I think its only going to get more divisive as people refuse to call out their own side. The number of votes from people of colour for Trump still astounds me to this day, turkeys voting for Christmas. Though I can understand why they weren't particularly fond of Kamala mind. Bizarre that a country of such magnitude, those 3 were its best and brightest options. Jeez.

It's the first time I've heard of them having the police stood there threatening to arrest them if they didn't vote how they wanted though

That's not quite true, as I understand it, the police were there to escort them if they left the building to prevent them from absconding again. One Democrat is currently living in a bathroom in the building as a protest that if she went home, she'd escorted everywhere by the police. The Democrats still voted against the gerrymandering but lost, the new more Republican (5 extra seats) district map will become law. This is why the Democrat leader of California is planning to do the same there to make 5 extra Democrat seats.

They were quite literally threatened with arrest if they left the building.

Maybe, but there were NOT threatened with arrest for voting in a particular way as you said in your post. They were being prevented from absconding as they did for the original vote.

Ah my bad. I misunderstood. You're right. Trump told them to change the voting boundaries to ensure more republicans in the house. The democrats refused to vote knowing that refusing wouldn't allow them enough voters to pass the vote. They were then forced into the house and threatened with arrest if they didn't vote

This isn't about the concept of gerrymandering, which I'm against, it's about the timing.

Redistricting takes place once per decade across most states after the census data is released. The advantage to gerrymander the maps falls to those in charge. It's dumb but its a relatively level playing field. The last redistricting took place in 2021. As far as I'm aware mid-decade redistricting like this, specifically to effect the outcome of an individual election has just not been done before. This is a power grab by Trump and Abbott and its why other states are forced to respond. It's election rigging in full public view with no shame.

The other side is that Trumps popularity amongst republicans is dropping like a stone and democrat popularity is growing. These changes weaken the majorities of a number of incumbent republicans and only a small swing could hand a number of Texas house seats to the democrats. Its a gamble. Especially with the Epstein saga haunting them.

I completely 100% agree with everything you are saying mate. I believe republicans have tried doing this in the early 2000s, though I only briefly read about it and no idea (or dont remember exactly, what happened). I believe some states have laws against doing it midterm? My point about boy who cried wolf is, they both do this to benefit themselves. Ultimately, there was always going to be a risk someone would attempt something like this, as far as I can tell, its completely legal, if utterly immoral. Even Trumps DOJ has suggested some of the states districts, drawn to comply with voting rights act, goes against the constitution - so i have absolutely no qualms about saying its completely reprehensible what they're doing bud.

Trump is definitely finding 'loopholes' to benefit him during the midterms, unquestionably. My issue is, it could and should have been stopped a long, long time ago.
As for his numbers, I've only seen CNNs on his. I know alot of republicans have been put off by his epstein debacle, but his immigration, crime and economy numbers were all fairly decent according to their stats, whilst Democrats were still struggling. Though this was over a week ago.

I do think, If they democrats just had a primary, someone like Josh Shapiro, who to me seemed a good candidate, could easily have been president now instead of this nobjock. Instead, Biden decided to drop out only after that disaster of a debate (which btw, far too many on our side were pretending he didn't have issues) and crown Kamala. I genuinely think any half competent candidate would have wiped the floor with Trump.

Trumps approval is still ok on those issues but has been declining since January.. and, more importantly, he relied heavily on his 95% approval with republicans which has dropped to the mid 80s over the last month or two. At that level he would have almost certainly lost to Kamala in 2024. If any of that disillusion transfers to the mid terms there is very real potential he loses both the house and congress and finishes up his tenure as a lame duck. The fact that they are trying this trick pretty much confirms they think the are f**ked.

In 2021 the first bill introduced by the democrats would have ended gerrymandering and it passed the house but republicans in the senate filibustered it out of existence.

IIRC With the seats that are up in 2026, it is not possible for the democrats to retake both - I believe at best, they can retake either the senate or the house.

Definitely the house. The senate is an outside shot but not impossible

They also introduced a bill to end the filibuster.

You can guess what happened to stop that

That one was actually blocked by cowardly democrats who thought that “bipartisanship” was the only answer.

Just read in the NYT that the US Justice dept. (presumably on Trump's instruction) have sanctioned four judges (Fiji, France, Senegal & Canada) of the International Criminal Court for indicting Netanyahu of war crimes. I think US dictionaries should redefine the words morality and justice.
