See that's what happens when Luca is off corner taking. Nice one in from Caylan headed out straight to our goal scorer, unmarked on the 18 yard line
Another 7-1 pasting would be about right today. We are miles better than our so-called superior opponents.
Can’t tell if commentator has gone for a cuppa or just waiting to say the next word (mic is still switched on).
Imho....we have played well...still the odd error, where your heart is in your mouth but genrally better team. Their keeper has helped massively with that awful mistake for the first... and the ambitious attempt on Mcgoldrick (who made the most of it). So you would hope we can keep up the impressive passing and see this one out. Thought Watson, Ogbeta possibly Connell were very good....hope our skipper keeps his head but tbf and give him 10 then bring Kelly on.
Great first half, we approached it well by taking the game to them which got us our rewards. Start the second half the same and get the next goal then it's game over, sit back and they get the next goal then it's a jittery Oakwell
I can't remember last time going in at half time, feeling this comfortable, playing 10 men . And dominating the game . They were not great with 11. So we should be OK today.
Very good first half from us. We started composed, moving the ball well from the off. McGoldrick operated with a freer role on the left, while DKD played more centrally and advanced – though this became fluid as the half progressed. That setup allowed DKD to capitalise on a goalkeeper error and give us an early lead. Connell and Bland provided solid protection for the defence, and Huddersfield offered little in the first 20 minutes as we controlled possession. Shepherd was a little too casual early on, seemingly believing he was the second coming of Paul Futcher. As the half wore on, they grew into the game as we began to make some sloppy mistakes – Luca dithered on the ball, and a couple of misplaced passes from Earl caused problems – but Huddersfield’s poor quality in the final third spared us. Their only real effort of note was a free header sent over. Our pressing in their half was good, but we created little after taking the lead, with a few through balls slightly overhit. Their keeper then completely lost the plot, channelling the ghost of Harald Schumacher to clatter into Didzy and earn a deserved red card. Connell picked up a soft yellow for the team following the resultant free kick. A deflected second from Connell near the end of the half eased any fears of a Huddersfield comeback. We could have had a third, but a superb cross from Bland flashed across the box with the goal gaping. We should have enough quality to see this out, but we’ll need to be professional and manage both the game and the referee in the second half. .
