Arsenal turned up with four centre backs & three holding midfielders & tried to play act & rely on set pieces. Deserved nothing & got nothing.

This is a Liverpool side that let two in at home to Bournemouth & conceded two to 10 man Newcastle with an out of form left back & a makeshift right back.

I’m sure others will have different views but I think it’s poor from Arteta.

Yep, agree, you've got to get at this Liverpool side.

    Professional from Liverpool that.

Centre mid at right back as the new signing is injured and Bradley just coming back from injury, didn’t try to be too expansive against the one side who’d be able to pick them off.

Did Allison have a save to make? Stats say one Arsenal shot on target in the whole game. For all the final third ball Arsenal had, they never seemed to be banging the drum at any point.

Ok, an outstanding moment of magic to win it but they didn’t look troubled much at any point to my eye.

If they sign Guehi and Isak - and I suspect they might - it’s looking ominous for the rest.

Arsenal showed today that they’ll drop points by not being prolific enough. Again.

Liverpool v Arsenal was an utterly dreadful match, at least it was before I fell asleep. I was awakened by the cheering which greeted the superb goal. It then continued to be really boring. I think Liverpool have been lucky in all three games so far. In my view, the true Reds, of Oakwell, have provided much better entertainment.

They're all playing with one eye on the 20th minute and the Jota tribute. I said before it started this will be the toughest title defense for many years. Slot has even said he looks along the bench for his match-winner and he's not there!

Diaz was a big loss for them - goals and assists. Very effective player and still puzzles me why they let him go especially after losing Jota

Arteta has never won away at City or Liverpool. He's struggled massively against Everton & newcastle away. He's just far too timid away from home.

I thought it was to free up funds for Isak and Guehi. Will soon find out if that's true!

I think Arteta will deliver another trophy less season for the goooooners. Massively overrated manager and a real morngy ****** too.

Liverpool will win the league again, but in my opinion they won't face much of a challenge. Liverpool won't have to play consistently well, I just think the other "contenders" aren't good enough. Pep boy is finished, Arteta is just a ******* loser, Chelsea won't last the distance. Newcastle won't go as well without Isak. Man Utd will be bottom 6 :D. The real fight will be for places 2-4.

Don't think they needed to sell - made quite a few million from likes of Nunez etc. They hardly spent anything last two windows so have quite a bit to play with

Yeah I get that mate and you're probably right. But 40 million for Guehi (if reports are true) and Newcastle unwilling to budge on 150 for Isak, I figured that might be why. They might also think he wouldn't get a spot when Isak joins. Dunno...

I completely agree with that. You can understand the tactics if they worked but he’s making every big game they’re in a dire spectacle & it doesn’t even get them results.

Usually, a point away at your rivals is decent. But over the past couple of years, they've needed to go places and actually win. Especially later on in the season, if they went for it and lost, fair enough, but they don't & never do. It's a shame because they have some very talented players.

I think Newcastle will be fine.

I keep hearing now they’ve had this disaster of a window but they look like they’ve done really good business to me. Their first 11 was quality & they’ve added Ramsdale, Thiaw, Ramsey & Elanga who to me are all big upgrades on Dubravka, Kelly, Longstaff & Almiron.

If they had the big German they’ve just signed or Wissa they beat both Villa & Leeds for me.

I do think they've overpaid for Woltemade but that may be premature since I've seen him play probably 3 times and whatever on highlights. They won't get anyone near as good as Isak, but him & Wissa will do a good job. As you say, they've filled out some depth finally so will be good. Ramsey is a particularly good signings imo. Be interesting to see if Thiaw can perform in the prem, Todibo looked a world beater before joining West Ham and now he's not great at all. I really rate Botman already there too.

I’d never watched Woltemade before the Euro’s in the summer but I like the look of him.

I just think any half decent striker will score plenty in that side. Fantastic midfield, wingers who get crosses in & excellent set pieces when Trippier plays.

Callum Wilson was scoring plenty before injuries took their toll too.
