Im 90% happy with the squad and window. Would have loved another striker but the players we've signing and not sold its fantastic. Mladen haters cant argue this window... Our signings look great.. Humble pie
Can The Board put their heads above the parapet now without the fúckwits claiming they're taking money out of the club?
Nah, they're waiting till January, sellers market then, clubs get desperate when things aren't going well, they'll get more coin for the crown jewels in January. Markmiwurdz.
I am very happy with the window. The new additions are now putting in some excellent performances and the whole team is working as one. Would I have liked another forward, of course, but we are where we are, and we have goals all over this team.
Presumably in English that's borderline unfathomable it's so badly spelt and punctuated... Edit - Just been on there and seen that Young Nudger appears to be having a bit of a meltdown.
Agreed. Credit where its due, Conor, Mladen and the board have done extremely well to keep those 3 in particular this summer.
Im happy but we have done ourselves short with not signing some striker cover. Its what happens leaving everything till the last minute. One striker away from been pretty much perfect. Always a free transfer to pick up i suppose.
Not sure how we can pretend it’s a great window when he’s effectively failed to get in a player that we had obviously identified we needed in the squad and left scrabbling around on the last day and failing to land anyone in that position. The same position that’s been the same reoccurring issue for a 2nd season in a row and it wasn’t fixed in Jan last year either. great news the players we kept but disappointing that as we saw in that Wimbledon game we don’t have anyone to come on and change a game upfront and we are going to run into a few more teams like them over the season.
They've done really well to transform the squad to align with the new formation, moving out a lot of players who failed to perform and replacing them with experienced players at this level. The squad feels leaner, with fewer square pegs in round holes. The emergence of Shep, Yoganathan and Bland has helped massively, and while we're still a very young squad we've got a lot of experience. To have players like Connell and Phillips now in their fourth seasons with us is a fantastic statement of intent, as is holding on to DKD and Russell. McAtee would have been an outstanding cherry on top, but the club has done very well.
Again, you don't know if we've left it until last minute. Things happen. We can't force clubs to do deals, we have to wait until they're happy to do it. I'm very excited about all our signings this window, and even more so that we've kept our big players and got rid off the dead wood.
Nobody can claim it was a great window until the end of the season and where it takes us but as others have put our squad is significantly stronger than the end of last season missing out on one position doesn’t change that.
I'm not sure that it's fair to say that they have left everything until the last minute. They have been trying to get a striker in for many weeks. It just isn't that easy to get a good one in, with a very restricted budget.
Disappointed we haven’t signed a striker. That should have been the priority over another centre back. I hope we can move Nwakali on but I can’t fathom the logic behind publicly criticising players. I’m sure it’s made it more difficult to move him on. Obviously happy we’ve kept our best players. I don’t know if we’ve turned bids down or it was just rumours but I’m happy to see Phillips & DKD staying.
