Deadline day recruit Jake Rooney visited Oakwell for the first time as a Red following his arrival on a season-long loan from Derby County. The 22-year-old defender joins Conor Hourihane's ranks for the 2025/26 campaign from the Rams and met up with the coaching staff and his teammates for the first time at Oakwell. One or two of those photos look like he's been sent to ask someone for a long stand. It'll be a tin of tartan paint on day two.
Looks physically quite lightweight in what's a physical division. Let's see but of all the signings this is the one I've the most reservations, of course he could be an absolute gem and Derby think highly of him, but his stature concerns me thinking about some of the big lumps in this league.
He doesn't look to have the biggest stature to be fair but he is 6ft 2 according to his stats. Surely he'll be stronger at centre half than MDG though?
Looks very slight, Build wise. Happy to eat humble pie and proven wrong, but initial thoughts around physicality looks wise isn't filling me with confidence on this one.
