Whatever you believe. We are all sons or daughters of mothers and fathers, some of us fathers mothers and even grandparents. Just because someone believes in a different political belief, does not mean they deserve to be shot. I feel terribly sorry for Charlie Kirk’s family. God bless him. Super tyke should really be banned from this sites
when I made my post there was no suggestion that he had died. I believed it to be a minor shooting and found that quite funny and ironic considering his views on guns. The second i learnt this was not the case I deleted my post. I fell absolutely awful for his kids. That's all I can say
Mate, help me out please. I’ve had to lock two threads already because people can’t show restraint. Creating new threads because the others are locked, isn't helping.
Let's keep a bit of perspective here. We've not just witnessed the death of Martin Luther King or suchlike. Charlie Kirk was a nasty piece of work by anyone's politics/religous beliefs. Just because he's now dead and was a husband and father doesn't make that any less of a fact, however sad that is for those close to him. Let's recall, this is the man who insisted that if he had a 10 yr old daughter who was pregnant by rape, he would make her carry the baby full term and give birth. He wasn't pleasant, he claimed the death of thousands each year, schoolkids included, due to gun laws in America were a price worth paying to protect the 2nd ammendment and even wanted those laws relaxing in some states. And that's before we progress to his views on the rights of anyone slightly different to himself. Am I glad he's dead? No, not really, he doesn't register on my radar enough to wish that, I'd rather it was his mate Trump. Does seem odd , the out pouring of love on here for such an obnoxious, intently divisive figure and the vilification and pile on to a poster who obviously was unaware he'd died. There are greater hills to die on should you wish.
I’m not glad he’s been assassinated, but i’m also not going to mourn someone with abhorrent views or pretend he was some hero. My biggest worry and the reason for why i’m feeling very solemn about this is about the inevitable retaliation though, no matter who is actually found to be behind it, it won’t matter. It’s going to get very messy over there. It feels a lot worse than even if a politician was assassinated honestly, because while yes he’s put himself out there as a public figure, he’s not been assassinated because of the policies he’s introduced like most political assassinations. It puts a lot more people at direct risk of a retaliation, people who are often not going to have the resources to protect them in the way a politician would.
Or biden or maybe starmer? Or maybe nobody at all it would be extra better. Lets all be grown up and have different opinions and views without hurting or should I say killing eachother
Maybe because Jo Cox was more about tolerance and acceptance and generally a rather decent human being.
It does concern me how much violence seems to be coming from 'my side' over in America in recent years. The left should be about progress and values. Not death and destruction, something I associate with the right throughout history. Whatever you think of his views, this is disgusting and far, far worse than anything he's ever said. He was deeply religious and I thought most of his strong views were abhorrent, stemming from his religion, but it concerns me how people can just shrug this off. We can pretend all we want to have the moral high ground, but certain reactions to this horrific situation and some of the stuff I've seen online is downright disgraceful. Only one 'side' will win if we keep stooping to the same level. He didnt deserve this. Very few people do. His views on a lot of subjects could be easily challenged, especially if people just decide to use their own initiative and learn. But all this is going to do is cement more people on his views. In saying that, I will never understand the love for guns in America. Its as though they're still the rebels under the monarchy fighting for their freedoms. Very strange. Feel so sorry for his innocent children hes no longer around for. And in my view, will only push them further to the fringes, just as killing countless fathers in Palestine will push their sons into darkness. RIP.
How very Boris Johnson. You’re just using this this to have a go to suit your needs. Keep spilling the same bile day in day out. If I felt the same way as you I’d simply stay away from this board.
Should have posted on Charlie Kirk thread but I can’t. America takes another step towards breaking up. Can’t remember so much being made of the democrats who were murdered. If they are now practicing the politics of the gun, there is no saving them. Ironic that the victim was such a staunch gun supporter.
Jo Cox was a very decent human being and used her position as an MP to try and unite communities not divide and spread hate. That’s why her murder caused such a widespread outrage.
If we are going down that road lets be honest, Supertyke has previous form for extreme posts like the original one regarding Charlie Kirk and we can safely guarantee he knew it was a lot worse than he was letting on. If you're going to constantly preach about taking the high ground, morals and doing the right thing then you shouldn't always jump at the first chance to horrifically celebrate someone you don't like getting shot.
Politics is absolutely dominating people's lives and it's gonna get worse. People have changed more and more since social media came about. It's gave people a platform to spread hatred and point score politically and lead to more and more....
