To anyone who has read my solar panel stuff. I'm out all day. During that time I'm going to speak to citizens advice. I'll ask them what my next move should be, but I'll also ask them if I can get in any trouble by sending out all the emails I have received (from the installation company, the finance company, the financial ombudsman, the regulatory bodies, everyone) to as many newspapers, MPs, official bodies, watchdog type tv programmes, whatever. If you can be arsed and you've got the time I'd appreciate the email addresses of anyone you think may be interested in this. Newspaper editors, MPs, tv programmes, anyone at all. Cheers, a thoroughly depressed Jay.
Just ring 'em up, they'll sort you out mate. You won't need the publicity machine. I had a long dispute with Carphone Warehouse recently but eventually won my case and got my money and costs back, with the help of Citizen's Advice's advice.
personally as much as I agree with you about avoiding publicity if poss I would now start with Watchdog, if you go to there BBC website its really straightforward to put your problem forward, and I would think yours would shoot straight to the top of their pile!
think you have to take into account here CFW aren't the sort of firm that forge stuff and leg it leaving damage, so not really the same type of problem for someone like Citizens Advice who although a great organisation would probably in Jays case just get ignored.
It's exactly the same. He paid for something that he hasn't got, or isn't fit for purpose. The supplier should put it right, or pay for it to be put right. I daren't tell you what I think about CFW.
Trouble with Watchdog is there is a risk you might encounter Ann Robinson - think you are right though Jays case is a classic example of the sort of thing either Watchdog or Rogue Traders would love. What stuns me is the approach of the financial ombudsman.
My daughter is just on a final year of a 4 year law degree at Huddersfield uni and she told me of this place a while ago. Seeing as we have a campus in Barnsley try these. https://www.hud.ac.uk/uhbs/legaladviceclinic/aboutus/ https://www.hud.ac.uk/uhbs/legaladviceclinic/ Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Me too. As soon as Anne Robinson is on the case they'll be cacking their pants. I would. And as Farnham says, yours is exactly the type of case they want to sink their teeth into. They do, however, usually need more than one person complaining. This day in age with the amount of installations of these panels, I'd imagine there will be a good few problems elsewhere that might have already been reported to them.
