The performance was very poor, but I'm going to skim over that, because no doubt it will be done to death.

The 'shameful' comment is aimed at the 'supporters' who have booed a new team & new manager within 30 minutes of the first home game of a new season. You don't deserve a decent team, whether Hill & co can fashion one or not. Please, just go away and watch someone else, because you're spoiling Barnsley FC for the rest of us.

Agreed, not much excuse for it under most circumstances, let alone the current ones.

Couldn't agree more. Some of them were boo'ing after 5 minutes. If we've got a team destined for relegation, theres a certain element of our 'fanbase' that ******* deserve it.

Everytime the boos rang out my 7 year old son and I applauded and shouted encouragement for the team along with the others on our row.

With supporters like that, stick them in the away end where they belong.

Thought booing was ridiculous at half-time, can't understand it, we were outplayed by a great side, simple as that. For the first home game, the attendance was terrible as well, very worrying - only 10k with 900 of them Southampton.

About 4 or 5 regulars around where I sit haven't renewed. Very surprising as these have been there for at least the last 10 years or so.

I don't agree with the booing today. However, when the fans weren't booing the place was like a morgue - we badly need to start generating an atmosphere somehow. It felt like a pre-season game at times, apart from the noise coming from the away end.
