    Shaw Lane AFC's application to be renamed AFC Barnsley has been rejected by the FA.
    They will continue to play under the name Shaw Lane next season, despite their Ground share arrangement
    at Sheerien Park with Athersley Rec. Shaw Lane owner Craig Wood says that Barnsley FC had
    raised an objection on the grounds that the new name could cause confusion with the Reds.
    He said " I don't know where we go from here if we can't have Barnsley in the Clubs name."

    Not sure why it's been rejected. I don't see how we can stop a team from Barnsley having the name of the town in their name.

    Especially considering that our former owner (presumably we put her objection in during his tenure) had funded a rival club called the exact same name

    Any of those wpuld be fine. AFC is just one letter difference and so would be silly.
