I can see why you are confused. I clicked on reply to original post but for some reason it is positioned under the MRX post.

For what it worth, I haven't watched any of it and its just a general comment about aging bands. If anybody is taking the piss it sounds like its them

Thought they were adequate, shame they didn't play Ruby Tuesday or Gimme Shelter though.

I am sure people paying for tickets are well aware that it is 2013, and not the 1960's/70's when The Rolling Stones were in their prime. If they arent aware of this fact, then yes, they are getting rinsed. I would part with £200+ just to watch Disclosure, Mumford and Sons, Arctic Monkeys, The Foals, 1975....... I could go on and on. Hundreds of acts.

I'd rather listen to John Stones on the karaoke.

I don't think the BBC did them any favours by picking up coverage at the slowest, most self indulgent part of the set. And the Stones didn't help themselves by sticking to the tour set, rather than playing to the festival audience.

It does highlight though, the absolutely dreadful quality of songwriting amongst contemporary British bands. Many of which, simply did not deserve to be on these stages. With the exception of Arctic Monkeys, Jake Bugg and Noak & the Whale, I have never known this festival to be such a desert of talent and charm. I can only comment on the TV coverage, I know there's lots of great stuff happening.

Vaccines, Foals, Escape, Corteeners, Ben Howard - just dreadful. Really dreadful, no business being on a stage or in a recording studio. And I just wanted to kick the **** out of that Professor Green clown and that's not like me.
