Two kids had a scrap. One of them was Roma. They called home and the big men from page hall turned up tooled up trying to climb the fence.
Around the Firvale area is a melting pot of races and cultures. I'm surprised there isn't more trouble on a regular basis.
If that was true there'd be trouble among staff in every hospital and among players of every Premier League team while Kendray, Worsborough Common, Athersley and Lundwood would be perfect examples of monocultural peace and love.
I agree, as a teen I had a pen knife on my key ring. Used it for all sorts, but never felt the need to stick it in anybody. In fact I never saw it as a weapon, only a tool. I am at risk of sounding like the gun loving Americans here, but surely it is the people who have done the crime should be more heavily fined? Or are we going to have to have license to carry knives?
I took my Swiss army knife attached to my key ring flying to Dublin several times. It was only on the last trip that someone decided it was too big - even after others decided it was perfectly legal. Ended up losing it, and it was a Father's Day present
I did that quite by accident flying to the US not long after 9/11.. I got through security and onto the plane before realising... when I told my wife she said, “are you going to hand it in?”. I explained that I didn’t intend to hijack the plane, so it could stay in my hand luggage... lol
Don’t ever talk to an American about gun laws then.... lol I have the most reasonable American friends who when presented with the fact that the US has a gun problem... they come up with all kinds of crap. Likening them to cars, ie more people are killed in cars than by guns. I’ve actually been asked “shall we ban cars too?” They will then go on about being able to protect themselves if the government goes bad. Then finally, it’s the person not the gun that kills... I have never seen a normal, sensible person believe in such illogical, crazy nonsense as an American talking about gun laws.
I need to lay down. Apart from your baseless 'articulate' claim* I agree fully with this. *Obviously humour.
I'm not proposing a new law, merely stronger penalties for those breaking the law which already exists
Update: It was started when a couple of girls had a scrap. One lost their headscarf. Big brothers got involved one came off worse so they phoned for back up. Which is when all the adults turned up mob handed and carrying weapons. Schools now open but reduced hours.
