A little birdie tells me, plod are applying to magistrates to use these on Barnsley fans, as they are easier to implement then banning orders. And cover a wider range of offence, such as congregating in large numbers and so on, so if this application goes through they can ban people from the ground on conditions of they're ASBO, but it'll not be a football banning order which are harder to get. Could be about to have our attendances halved.
The thing is both can be put forward for essentially very trivial matters. Be alot of guilty by association...
ASBO's don't exist anymore. They were scrapped at the end of 2014. Replaced with Civil Injunctions and Criminal Behaviour Orders. And trust me, banning orders are easier to implement and also include restrictions like not associating with others, banning from particular locations/pubs as well as not attending the matches themselves.
It's to do with big groups hanging around in areas the police feel are flash points, and giving them more power in not just making them leave but stoping them from taking up positions in these areas in the first place, and if they do so they can be arrested for breach of conditions of the orders placed on them.
They ought to use them on the drug dealing scroats who congregate outside the Yorkshire Bank in tarn; however, that would actually need a fed to be on duty in that area first though.
