Arrived about 15 minutes ago and there was 2 cars in the carpark.....a feel lonely at work now!!
Work for myself so Good Fridays always seemed a wasted day to have off. Must admit though looking forward to a 3 day break, hopefully with a few points to show for on Monday evening!!!
We have 3 weddings on tomorrow. I'm doing one in a marquee up in north Leeds, doing soul stuff mainly. Then I'm doing a couple of events up in North East, (Durham & Newcastle) sunday & monday. A lot of stuff to get together today. A bunch of CDs just arrived too, which I'm burning to my hard drive, another 150 northern soul tunes... Apart from missing Leeds & Derby matches can't complain. Should be able to listen to both on player on my phone or mac hopefully.
Finished my fortnight on nights this morning at six. Back on Monday. Back on days. Means I'm missing Derby but hey ho, least I see us destroy Michael ******* Brown and his dirty Leeds side.
I bet your body clock is all over the place Whitey, or do you get used to it after a while? I used to do shift work in the summer holidays and I could never adjust to it. The worst was coming home from work at half six and waking at ten because of the sun and heat. Hated it.
I've just joined a soul band as their guitarist, really made a change for me as I've mostly played classic rock in the past. Its great having a brass section in the band, gives us massive scope for song choices.
I don't do shift work as a rule, mate. We have a days and afters shift in our department but orders have gone through the roof (can't complain) and so they've added a night shift. I was asked to do the first couple of week to train a load of Slovaks and Poles etc. Told the management I wasn't doing permanent nights - despite them pestering me - mainly because of what you said. I wake up around 10 with the sun shining through curtains and people mowing lawns etc. I did nights May to December last year and missed the Summer weather. Not happening this time. Put myself first for a change. Would have made more coin like, but my health and well being is more important. You boring Reds.
Agree with that. Fair play to anyone who works nights on a long time basis. I remember when I used to go to the match with my when he was working at Corus - go to the match, drop me off then over to Stocksbridge for twelve hour neets. Not good.
