I'm not disagreeing with who he brought on, but 2 of the subs were enforced, and both of them made the team worse overall.

Hope Styles and Gomes are not serious injuries.

It plays in to his hands that his two games are home advantage against two of the whipping boys of the league.

He's started well but let's not get too excited.

WBA made hard work of Hull tonight, so I hope the boys don’t take them for granted at the weekend, after tonight.

The team played 10 yards further up the pitch tonight. That made a massive difference - and was a nod back to last season.

He also seemed quite bonded with the team at the end, which shouldn’t be underestimated.

Depending on how things go, he should certainly be a contender with a similar performance on Sat.

One swallow doesn't make a summer but if we beat Hull on Saturday then the owners might consider him til the end of the season. If he does as good a job as VIS MARL then why not?.

Derby did the same. It’s the stupidest **** in the whole of football, except for maybe not having someone marking the person who is taking a throw in (given 99% of throw ins are a first time ball back to the thrower)

And when we lose at home to Hull it’ll be ‘we need to get someone with experience “

If we beat Hull and play well then he'll have earned himself a few more games. At the very least I wouldn't be rushing into an appointment, unless we've suddenly got someone incredible lined up. As I've said before, any vaguely competent manager should be able to have this squad winning regularly just by doing the basics right, as appears to have happened last night. It's now looking even more absurd that we didn't get rid of Schopp before the international break. While I'm not particularly concerned about staying up as I think we will do with plenty to spare, the season is already dead as far as aiming for anything better goes, and that's really disappointing.

Last night was Derby's 5th defeat in16, hardly "whipping boys".

He would have been on my list. Still think we need someone with a little bit of experience and maybe keep Laumann around. Wouldn’t rule out an American based manager coming in to be honest. The whole Brexit thing and negativity towards Schopp may convince the board to switch tact. Saying that, they got Struber and Ismael right.

Haha there was talk on a Chicago Fire forum about their recently sacked manager coming to England to a Champ club so wouldn’t be surprised if it was him but dunno.

I love his enthusiasm at the end there. With hard work and that level of passion, I'd give him a go till the end of the season.

Would prefer an experienced or rising English manager but I think I'd rather have Laumman than some unknown Austrian second-tier manager. If he gets to the international break we've then got Fulham away. That's a real test.

Laumann is quite simply the best manager we've had since Schopp.
