At-seat blowies A more entertaining product on the pitch - like kabbadi or nipsy. Drag brunch with unlimited prosecco Squid Games style competitions to see which member of the first team squad is murdered this week. Jacuzzi pools dotted around the stands. Hope that helps.
Is it not swings and roundabouts though? Maybe the performances are average because the atmosphere has 2 settings, flat and hostile. We've definitely played better away this season, when the atmosphere has been much better.
It’s something when 250 away fans out sing estimated 9500 home fans, “ IT’S LIKE BEEN IN LIBRARY “ come on pontie we need you back
I think it would be a good gesture from the club to give out Free Barnsley Fc Flags, Kids would love that and it wouldn’t cost a fortune either.
Get you now…I think I’ve more reason to be sorry as I misread your question ! Just same for mi O levels
I think if the board showed some ambition then the fans would show greater enthusiasm as a result. The attitude of the board over the last few years has meant the fans have little optimism in the long term future of the club and last seasons disaster plus the sale of most the clubs better players in the summer has led to an attitude of indifference.
The whole match day experience has been appalling for a number of years now. Add to that the poor performances on the pitch and the lack of motivation after being told our business model is to make a profit via spreadsheets what do you expect? There is no excuse either, Accrington Stanley seem able to generate a great atmosphere on a much smaller budget but they seem to want to promote their club to everyone both on & off the field.
If I remember correctly, at the time, John Dennis said they kept the corners open to let the cold air in, so that warm air wasn't trapped in the stadium which would harm the pitch. Apparently they'd done some research and that was the reason Old Trafford had problems at the time. I would imagine pitch technology has moved on a pace since then and building in the corners might be a viable option now.
One factor - design of the stadium, too open, there's enough supporters singing. New stadiums are getting designed for acoustics, put our supporters in the New York Stadium and you get a completely different atmosphere.
That's correct for the grass technology at the time but now we have Desso pitches so stadiums can be enclosed.
Omg Hereford fans backed them all the way, the atmosphere was great. Packed small ground makes the difference especially when it’s a small fan base.
I'm not sure that Duff's brand of football will ever excite us and the lethargy shows in the fact that there's hardly any threads about the football on the eve of the fa cup.
