I have a leaking outside down pipe from toilet to sewer.

Its not covered by the contract I have with British Gas (another small print job) because its asbestos.

Dynarod have told me they will fit a new pipe but I will have to pay for a specialist company to remove the pipe first.

Does anyone know who I can contact to get the pipes removed?

Contact a skip company, who will more than likely be licensed) and they will take it (you have to wrap the asbestos in polythene sheeting. If its a standard moulded pipe, not a pipe lagged with asbestos, there should be no problem.

Thanks for that but I will need someone to take the pipes down not just take the asbestos away.

Unless it's crumbled or broken, you can quite easily take the pipe down yourself. If it is crumbled or broken badly, then with gloves and a good dust mask (although ideally something like firefighters wear) you'll be fine. It's only dangerous if badly broken up or crumbled.

The Tip down Worsbrough will take asbestos for free, but you usually have to phone them up first to let them know (certain days only). So long as you take care, there's not too much to worry about.

Just make sure, you wash your clothes straight away, and also take a shower, which will get rid of any fibres stuck to you.
