I remember people said we should have signed him last summer, I was against it never go back and all that. Better than any striker we have apart from dkd.
Never achieved what he should have done in the game but a class act at L1 level. Someone we ought to have been interested in last summer but there was never a chance we would be.
I would have celebrated if I was Fletcher, after all it was his 33rd goal in 10 years, so quite a rare event
Could be the first against us since he left? I always remember him having poor games especially at Oakwell. Nice lad, I’m sure, but significant under-achiever
Hammill didn't do anything , anywhere else, but he turned it on for Barnsley and I believe Fletcher has the same feeling for the club
How many times have you actually watched him over the last 5,6,7,8 years mate? He's having an okay ish season. The other god knows how many seasons have been proper crap. I'd take him now, but purely down to lack of options.
We had Fletcher on loan 9 years ago for only 21 games. I wouldn't have given a **** if he'd celebrated wildly.
I don't mind former players celebrating when they score against us either, it's when they go and make a meal of it on purpose to wind us up, i.e Aitchinson, Adebayor against Arsenal etc.
I didn't mind Winnall doing it to us either, when he came back to Oakwell and scored. Our fans were making some 'naughty' comments about him lol, and he will have heard it all.
Winnall the exception for me actually though now you mention it mate haha. The manner of him leaving, that specific day when he knew what was happening, combined with where he was joining. He should have had something about him when he celebrated, but ofcourse he didn't
Nothing against him and his low key celebration, just as I’ve nothing against those who celebrate wildly. It’s theatre.
I just think it ties in though with that other thread. About fans (at any club) making disgusting personal abusive comments, towards the players.
