That was mental lol how he run round the touchline like a demented racehorse. And i have to say. Peppa pig was quality. He did actually clap our fans after the game after he'd calmed down.
Yeah the Peppa pig toy thing was brilliant, and he did seem to take it well. And maybe he's switched to de-caff though now, since that day.
Why has there become an expectation that former players shouldn't celebrate against their old club? If anything, it's disrespectful to the fan base they represent now. I've also never understood the clamour for Fletcher either. He was alright for us, 9 years ago, and failed at club after club ever since.
This season is the first since he was with us that he’s played in the third tier. Good player at this level. Watching him on Saturday you can’t deny that he’d be ideal for us. Holds the ball up well, a threat in the air and works his socks off. He’d walk into our side (not difficult I accept).
Did he really fail at Boro? Obvs Prem stint with the Hammers was a step too far and his spell at Wendies last year was dire. But we know what he 'could do' and on Saturday he was the best forward on the pitch. He's started finding the net again at Blackpool, so if he has got his mojo back, I wouldn't have minded it being with us.
I've followed his progress a bit over the years and he's definitely been out of his depth in the Championship, which is the level we aspire to. He played well Saturday, I'd argue better than he ever did for us, and yes, he'd improve our side, though that's not really saying anything and if anything is a indication of how poor our own business rather than how good Fletcher is.
Fair enough, as always. But I don't think he'd need to worry about another crack at championship with us any time soon. But he'd help get us out of this division
He’s not really a player we can afford, and we certainly can’t compete with ‘the likes’ of Blackpool. Just need to accept we are fishing in a much smaller pool.
I bet Humphrys is on more than him. I've seen it shared numerous times this season we have then4th biggest wage bill in the league.
I don't doubt we could afford him if we wanted to I was merely 'judging us by our actions' in the transfer market. We've chosen not compete against the bigger teams like Blackpool, Bradford, MK Dons, Oldham and Athersley Rec.
How does that work then? He wouldn't have to worry about a crack at the championship with us anytime soon, but he'd help us get promoted. To the championship. Surely he'd then be having a crack at the championship with us!?!?!
That's not how I read your post. We're not in a position to just jettison what players we don't want, only if their contracts have ended. Imagine the uproar if we gave him a 1 year contract, he scored 25 goals to get us promoted, and we let him go.
I don't think so, we have just made the wrong signings. Our wage bill is higher than blackpools. Players like Cosgrove Humphrys and Benson will all be on a fair whack and they've been awful signings all 3 of them.
I agree with some of that but never understood the, "he's not good enough for the championship" we're in league one. The aim is promotion you achieve that then sort the squad out in the summer. He's scored as many as Humphrys and watters have combined this season. That's really embarrassing and let's not forget Cosgroves contribution of over 900 league minutes and 1 goal. I think I could do better.
