10.99 is the national school record. Set by a 15 year old. I'd say 13 seconds is decent but not spectacular if your talking best in the country.

Thanks. Wasn't thinking beyond local level but it looked spectacular when performed. Ponty72;1720146]10.99 is the national school record. Set by a 15 year old. I'd say 13 seconds is decent but not spectacular if your talking best in the country.[/QUOTE]

12.30 is the county standard for juniors 13 to 15. Have a look on the English Schools Athletics Association website for more info.

Is it on grass or on a proper running track? When I was at school there were a few who could do it in 13 seconds and I remember being told that you can probably knock up to a second off that if it was on a proper surface.

One thing you have to remember is that if the time is being recorded by a teacher then 13 seconds is probably actually 14 seconds due to reaction time on starting the stop watch and rounding down of the final time

Have a look at http://www.thepowerof10.info/ - it has all the official UK track times for the last few years. It looks like an official time of 13.00 would be around top-100 under 13s this year.
