when it finds a virus, the options are move to vault or heal I assume heal fixes something which is partly useful but has a virus on it???? what does move to vault achieve??? what about if the the file is not useful is there not an outright delete option or is this covered in heal??? tia
Well, I have had a couple of viruses in the last 5 years having AVG, it moves the virus off your system and no problem from then on from when it does . . I would not swap it for any of the others. It updates every single day and it's great. Obviously, there must be other out there that do a better job but I have yet to find them
Moving to the vault is effectively like deleting it although the idea is that it keeps it just in case your system becomes unstable afterwards and you need to restore the file. It's not unheard of to mistake a legitimate file for a virus (especially these days when pretty much all software tries taking over your PC) so this gives you backup. I used to use AVG for years and it seemed to do the job nicely (although you can never tell how effective any of them are really... it's all a bit black box int it. Sometimes heal would fail and I'd be left with moving to vault as the only option.
