police once came out about some offence to do with the car ( and yes i am erm should we say known to them ) as soon as they saw me they knew it was rubbish and said it's happening all over due to congestion charges ( very handy for London Monk Bretton is ) just register cars at a bogus address

Well in that case, hit the bailiffs with a baseball bat & tell them to go away the thick bar-stewards :D

If you can prove you were not in the location of the parking fine when they were issued you shouldn’t have a problem.

    Its not registering cars

Its the fact that the car has your reg plate on it. Should try and sort it out. The bailiffs will not have all the details they will be told to just recover monies owed.

    Thanks for that.

    I, however, blame Windy.
    It's all the rage.

The best way to get around this issue is to burn out your own car - then hide in a jungle for 39 years.
Then, when you emerge back into society (to be greeted by hover-kettles & self ironing keyboard pants) no-one will be chasing you for the cash anymore.

    Glad to be of service.

    Really?

So you're not going to take my hover-kettle jungle advice?
You may be making a grave error.

    I drive a Sherman Tank.
The parking is awkward, but the road tax is cheap & if I get into a traffic jam I just pop a few shells in there & blow everyone the **** out of my way.

had loads of parking fines over 1 year from London area.

they should record the seriel number on your tax disk. I had to send photocopies to prove they had the wrong person.

i managed to get them all cancelled, but it was a real pain.

Is it a case of ID/Address theft?

Over the last 4 years, we have had no end of Bailiff threats, final demand letters, messages to our address forwarding threats against a Mr Mark Vaines. This 'fictitious' person has used our address to obtain credit and loans amounting to hundreds and thousands of pounds. In every case I have made a call and the debt collectors have apologised and removed our address from their records (hopefully - who knows if they have), but still the demands and threats keep coming. I joined data patrol at my bank, and nothing has shown up on 'Experian' credit reports. The police didn't want to know although we have reported this' fictitious' man as I am sure he's very real but obviously Mark Vaines is not his real name.

Our cards have been cloned 3 times.

You get so you are very suspicious.

Do the banks care? , do they make proper checks?, I fear not as we have received final demands for money owing from the Halifax bank and then a few days later we have received his new credit card from the said bank!

We haven't had anything in his name for a while and then suddenly, something will pop up, another final demand and threats of the bailiffs.

I feel for you. We are fed up to the back teeth with it.

The Police aren't interested in Bank Fraud anymore

[1] It makes their crime statistics look bad
[2] It makes the BANKS look bad

As a result, both organisations decided to sweep this under the carpet - and you now have to go to the bank to get this sort of thing sorted...

I refuse point blank to spend any of my money trying to sort it, surely it must be upto the firm to find out that it is definatly the right person that they have the address for and if the Bailiff trys anything i will defend MY property with whatever is at hand
