Mate just rang me, he's got a s/t in a different part of the ground to me so didn't see him last night.

When we were 6-1 up, our lot were singing "we want 7, we want 7" as you do - except for the guy behind him who was going nuts.

He had Whittingham to score the first & City to win 6-1. £10 on @ 1200/1 according to my mate. Lovely.

Scorer too, the lucky barsteward. (clap) (clap)

    Yep

...and as my mate said "I bet he doesn't get many winners up" - at which point I mentioned that his next bet is on Noah to win the Boat Race :D

Not sure what the individual odds were but obviously the combination was the key - although it'd be pretty hefty for a 6-1 result.

Put it this way, the guy had a lot more confidence in the result than I did lol

    I agree

...but my mate would have no reason to lie about it, wasn't his bet after all.

Much celebrating in the corporate section apparently.

I doff my cap to you

...knew someone had said it, couldn't remember who.

Don't think their injuries helped (10 out apparently) but the players obviously played to their managers sysytem - robotically pushing out of defence in a line to near the half-way line & adhering to zonal marking that far out.

Was easy to slip the ball past their sluggish defenders & let Chops win the foot-race.

They had some decent players (on paper) out there but they were woeful. Lee Hendrie for instance, absolute garbage with Robbie Savage little better.

    interestingly...........

after we beat them at their place fans after the game were split re Clough-some vehemently wanted him gone that night-non league in their opinion-others wanted to give him time-my guess is he won't be there next season

They really want him to do well

Because of the family blood etc, think he'll have added pressure aswell for obvious reasons. His weaknesses seem to be exposed alot though, defensively they're as all over the place. I can only see Hulse getting goals for them, Croft's a decent player too- gave Kozzie a hell of a bad time on the right flank this season. Savage is no more than a whinger either, if a decision goes against them then you can bet your love for money he'll be the first to complain about it. (blagger)

    Ahh yes, forgot about him

And your spot on about him too. Went down under Colace this season like he'd been snipered, coincidentally we went down the other end and made it 2-1. :D
