Neither am I, cant stand going to spain all those Dago's. It puzzles me somewhat that that the BNP candidate is tarred as a racist yet Labour have implimented and/or tried to impliment a fe BNP polices and its a good idea....
By virtue of association The BNP are a racist party therefore a candidate of the BNP would be a racist
National Socialist party.... To be honest no political party is floating my boat. No border control, funding scottish economy and a rise in violent crime amongst teens is the best Labour has to offer. People in Barnsley are genetically in herrent at voting for other parties in the public eye as they consider themselves so the BNP are like a fresh breath of air. I dont for one minute think that the BNP will become a major political party but as a protest vote increasing in numbers in every election is should give the major three parties a kick up the arse and to start listening to what the joe public want and aiming their polices at them. If that doesnt happen the **** will hit the fan.
I quote from one of my posts below: Or maybe the one in Lancashire - one of the youngest councillors ever elected - only been to about one council meeting since he's been elected. He doesn't see the point of meetings and such like 'cos he doesn't believe voting and electoral politics ever change anything (I would've looked on the internet for his actual quote but I couldn't be arsed but that's the gist of it). As a protest vote? Vote for someone who could give a s*it about the people they're representing or don't vote at all. It's not just the BNP's politics that are undesirable - their politicians are hardly the soundest of people...
Hes right though. the current voting system is a poor representation of how people decide to vote. As for voting for a politican who gives a ****, please find me one....
He isn't right... I bet he didn't go knocking on doors and saying "if you vote for me I'm not going to turn up for meetings", did he? I don't vote and I'm extremely cynical of politicians in general but I don't believe people died for the right to vote just so some bonehead Nazi can con people into voting for him by moaning about foreigners and then not turning up to meetings WHEN HIS F**KING ELECTORATE EXPECT HIM TO. If he can't be arsed with electoral politics why stand in the first place? If he's so convinced of his beliefs then he'd be using any tool he has at his disposal to change things. More likely than not he just likes bitching about asylum seekers but is as self-obsessed, lazy and generally indifferent to the people who voted for him as any other politician...
So not Robert Tressell then? Nearly right! I agree entirely with it, by the way. This country is a case in point - the situation has deteriorated since the people's interest, and involvement it, politics declined. Too many people wanting the government to do it for 'em then wondering why it all goes wrong...
RE: So not Robert Tressell then? Aye, that's a large part of the problem. There's a real lack of community involvement in local issues, but then people don't have the time anymore. Too busy working to live. Sadly that plays into any goverments hands and they get away with all kinds of shitty, dangerous legislation and people just go along with it, or go shopping.
No it doesn't because if this guy actually wants to oppose the running down of the NHS... (although I doubt it: http://www.barnsleyfc.org.uk/bbs/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=70048&mid=439805#M439805) ...and the other things you've mentioned then the best place he can do it is in the council chamber. How does NOT DOING ANYTHING TO OPPOSE the things you list (despite the fact he is in a better position to do it than me or thee, what with him being a councillor, 'n' all that) make him a better option? People have voted for him to do precisely that and he's giving the electorate the old f**k you simply 'cos he can't be arsed? This is the problem when you vote for one-trick ponies - people who's only qualification is to appeal to the "common man" by banging on about immigration and crime - when they finally get in a situation where they have to think of something a bit more sophisticated than "f**king Pakis" they're exposed for the cretins they are... Don't defend the indefensible...
Or go shopping... Happy consumers 'n' all that. You ever read Is It Just Me Or Is Everything ****? - you'd like it... I'm surprised you're quoting George Bernard Shaw though - a more patronising, middle class, pompous goody-goody there never was!
