    See my post here. The problem was/is that whilst Cryne never said that players would be signed and whilst the BBC website, skysports, chronicle, teamtalk etc never said that they would be, the Barnsley FC official site said <font color="#ff0000">&quot;Club will go for 'box office' players&quot; </font><font color="#000000">it was simply a very poor choice of words but it's where this 'promise' stuff has come from.</font></p>

    People have read the headline on the official barnsley site and had the seed planted in their head while they were reading the story. ie they were reading it and although the story never said that we would be signing box office players they already had the words 'club will go for box office players' in their head. </p>

    Nobody promised box office, but an ill thought out headline on the official barnsley site lead people to believe, wrongly, that box office players would be signed.</p>
