now Howard joining, makes me wonder who's influencing the transfer policy at Oakwell.

Maybe Flitcroft has 'learnt a lot about politics' as well.

Understand got a groin injury and needs to overcome that first. No point paying him when he can't play.

That's ironic, he had a broken foot when we signed him didn't he?

Yes, we'll win the play-offs like his last first season here. Colchester stubs at the ready ladies.

Brian Richard William Brotherton Howard is a </SPAN>good signing i think. He’s not pulled up any trees lately, but he obviously really enjoyed playing here and that should be motivation enough to get his finger out after a disappointing couple of years. He’s only 29 so no need to think he’s past it. He also gives us that option in midfield of someone who can arrive late in the box and score goals from centre mid.</SPAN></SPAN></SPAN>

I think the key there is 'fully fit'. We need depth. Everyone likes depth. And width

Flicker said he had a groin injury and would be about ten days away from being able to train.

Since leaving us (after making 121 appearances and scoring 27 goals) he's made 120 appearances and scored just 5 goals.

Because they've put two and two together.

Paul Walker said that there could be interest in Howard but he's injured for at least two weeks.

I just can't see him pulling up any trees. I think it will be such a shame because he built himself up a reputation last time he was here; he's scored 6 goals since he left Barnsley, he scored 14 in his last full season for us.

I admire his desire to return, and i'm thankful for what he did last time he was here, he was my favourite player for several years. But he's not going to be a fraction of the player he was. We need to be strengthening the squad, and for me, Howard would only be short term back up/replacement for Dawson, Perkins, Mellis, O'Brien.

Flitcroft said that he spoken to Howards "people"but because of the players groin strain which would keep him out for between 10 days to a fortnight he may revisit the situation later.
