I suggest......... you watch him closely over the next few games. He never hides or shirks responsibility, he always asked for the ball and is always trying to create and score goals. OK, he hasn't played brilliantly but without Macken up front to collect balls into feet and hold the ball up, and without Anderson in midfield able to also pass the ball he hasn't been as effective. I think the problem with Brian Howard is not his poor form but rather the standard of players around him. The same thing will happen to Howard as happened to Redfearn. I remember people slagging Redfearn off when he didn't score from 30 yards or create 10 clear chances and saying he didn't deserve his place in the team. A lot of people only realised how good he was when he left. Until now with Howard (and he isn't quite a replacement) we haven't been close to finding anyone similar.
