Doing a loft conversion and it has an ensuite bathroom. Building Inspector says I have to install an extractor fan.
From what I can see in the Regs thats not strictly true as I could install a Passive Stack vent instead, basically a hole that vents out to the roof
with no power required to drive a fan (much greener option !).

Question is I have fitted a large Velux in the bathroom and it has a full length vent that, being a Velux, opens directly out to the roof, does that
class as a Pasive Stack vent......? Or am I in for an waste of time discussion with him tomorrow !

Yeah but thing is with the velux, you can shut the vent off can't you so it's not permanent air!!

But you can also switch off the extractor fan. All a load of ****** if you ask me mate!!
