I think he’s one of them who gets better in fans minds when he’s left out, a bit like Mallon was. My mate who’s seen him a few times for the U23’s doesn’t think he’s anywhere near ready. I’ve only seen him once as a starter against Carlisle & on that showing would agree. He looked lightweight & they just ran straight through him numerous times
I think hed be good in a team that was winning, full of confidence and with good experience around him. I wouldnt be chucking him in to our relegation scrap just yet....impact sub.....maybe.
Don't know about Styles but if Bahre can put performances in like he did yesterday on a regular basis then surely he and Mowatt must be the first names on the team sheet. He put a shift in and the trait of casually trotting back when he lost possession seemed to be absent as he worked really hard and topped it off with a goal. He had a big assist on the first, and had a big hand in the build up of the one he scored too. I have to admit though, when he coolly slotted the ball home my first thought was, "who are you and what have you done with Mike Bahre". He obviously has a lot of talent but he finally showed composure when in a good position to score which is an element that has been missing from his game..
Tbh I posted this knowing bahre was starting and thinking he was going to be his usual anonymous lightweight self. Well he proved me wrong yesterday dont know if it was the formation that suited him or he just had a good game but keep it up.
I am a fan of Bahre in as much as his ball control and ability to get a pass in when under pressure for opponents makes him exciting to watch but I was unsure whether he was the right player in the situation where we are battling for points. Yesterday, he proved me that he is. As you say though he needs to produce that level of commitment every game now.He and Mowatt were very influential IMO although all the lads put a shift in.
Yeah he is great to watch on the ball good control, but his passing and final ball can be poor and often goes missing. I was sure my eyes were playing tricks when he slotted home the 2nd yesterday I still couldnt believe it until they announced his name. Hope he keeps it up.
End product from Bahre was more surprising than us winning yesterday. Still loses possession too much and gives free kicks away in silly positions. Still a lot to improve on but yesterday was a long awaited start.
Bahre was excellent yesterday. He has skills that no one else gets close to and his running was non-stop. His only blot was when he failed to take the ball cleanly in the Hull break that led to their goal but to be fair to him he'd just put in a 50 yards sprint to win it back and the defence could have dealt with it better. It was the best I've seen him since Charlton last Christmas. I get the impression the players have been told by the new regime to express themselves and not just play like robots. That must suit the like of Bahre. A lot of the players played with a confidence you wouldn't expect from a team that had gone four months without a win.
