I've not read a paper or seen the news for a few days until today, proper shocked, just seen an advert for News at Ten, an entire row of terrace houses ablaze, bring the army in if the police haven't got the power to do owt! The country is going to **** & that tw4t has taken this long to get back to address it? He wants sacking the *****!
He had to go back to the cafe he had 2 cappuccinos on Sat, just to tip the waitress, he forgot last time he was in.
He's on his way back - You could have excused Saturday as a one off. Last nights was under-reported until this morning. Should have really been back earlier today, but what's he going to do? He'll take loads of overstretched police away from their positions to provide security, whilst he goes looking at burnt out cars / shops. Its really up to the police commissionaire to sort it out.
It doesn't look like the police will do anything for the fear of the racism card been played. You can bet your next wage that if the majority of rioters where White they'd have moved heaven and earth to get topside of the trouble.
Because he doesn't need some new trainers from JD Sports! What do expect him to do that he can't do on the phone. If the rioters can mobilise via mobile phones and social networks then i think the PM can use modern technology.
Police seemed to do ok when bullying a few hippy students, now they've run for the hills when the going gets tough and the nutters are out. Where are they all? How can they allow all this looting? Maybe its time for some continental style policing - the French CRS don't mess about.
Just got back from Madrid where they have been having demonstrations by students. They went in with batons and riot vehicles.
plod have to be very careful what they do here, because they know that at some stage the the riots will finish then the papers and tv will turn on them making them scape goats, 10-20 will be sacked 2or3 high ranks for not sorting it, and the rest will be pc plods for going in too hard, because at some stage once its all settled down a bit the press will be showing footage of coppers beating jafakens wi sticks and ****, then at least 2or3 of the armed plod from Thursday will be booted out and maybe even locked up all in an attempt to show the jafakens that they are taking action so as to try and stop it happening again. In other words the plod will back down and let the ******** win
Its what happens when you attack Police pay and conditions and expose the corruption that goes to the top in the Met.....they aren't going to pull their fingers out whilst the politicians and Media Moguls are swaning about in luxury villas
Seriously. It's got so much publicity you only noticed today - but the most important man in the country should high tail it home to sort out a few, well organised to be fair, kids. I think this is a "any excuse to pick on the tories" thread.......AGAIN. Even the youth workers on the telly are giving Ken Livingston hell for trying to politicise it. If the police weren't so busy selling murdered kids parents mobile numbers to the papers and larging it up in swanky hotels paid for by friends of media moguls they might have been aroudn to do their jobs and got stuck in and arrest a few of them. This is not something that will escalate if put down like the Tottenham riots. The more the coppers stand back and watch it happen the more brazen the thieves will become and the more thieves will join them. The riots of the 80's were fueled by injustice. These riots are being fueled by greed. This is down to ineffective policing not ineffective politicians. By the way...nice to see Milliband is out there pressing the flesh, walking the streets calming the tension, and not on holiday.........oh wait a minute.
Ed Milliband isn't in charge mate , you'd have thought one of the senior Cabinet members would be holding the wheel whilst the others are on holiday,at least Prezza was always there when Bliar was away
Yes I only noticed it yesterday, it wouldn't matter which of the political parties were in charge, the leader should be there! I don't buy a newspaper & haven't watched the news, I work on construction sites & don't get the chance to sit around in a office talking about current affairs.
