Played in the same Barnsley Boys and Junior football teams as him, know him to talk to, not seen him since the Hume incident though. One of a handful of kids in the Barnsley U16s at the time that kept out of trouble, hence he signed schoolboy forms. He was way down the pecking order an all, luckily for him half of the Wombwell lads nicked the raffle ticket money and were told they wouldn't sign forms in a million years, pity.
Nivver forget his face when Wombwell mullered Penistone and he was playing at centre half, he was the only kid that could play, the rest were busy watching the sheep in the surrounding fields. Quick edit: he was more a midfielder in those days.
Never rated him as a defender, and was glad when he left. Just not my cup of tea. The fact he turned up at Bumhole Lane, and then did what he did, just adds to my dislike of him.
The amount of red cards he got for us made him a complete liability IMO. It's easy to say when they have departed your club, but he is the one stand out player for me that I really was glad to see the back of (of the supposed 'decent' players anyway).
Went to school with him. Was a better midfielder than defender. A decent lad and although the Hume challenge was awful still should be remembered as a decent defender who has had his career cut short through injury. Honestly how many of you would take him as the centre back that you all keep harping on about needing?
No not a thug! A solid vocal hardworking strong centre back. Who played well for us before joining blunts.
