From the Barnsley Star: Moore praise as Shuker joins Rovers FORMER Barnsley winger Chris Shuker has joined Tranmere Rovers. Shuker, who left Oakwell controversially, claiming he did not want to change clubs, has signed a two-year deal at the League One club. The 24-year-old has passed a medical at Prenton Park to become Rovers manager Ronnie Moore's ninth pre-season signing. "We have worked very hard to bring him to the club and we are glad we have been able to do it," Moore said. "He is an old-fashioned winger who uses tricks to beat people. "He is a player you would pay to watch and we are delighted he will be at Prenton Park this season." Barnsley boss Andy Ritchie has made finding a replacement for Stephen McPhail his top transfer priority. "We are looking for a holding midfield player," the Oakwell chief confirmed. Shuker's departure has left a vacancy in midfield on the right-hand side. Ritchie believes Martin Devaney, Paul Hayes or Tony McParland can fill in there. holding midfielder it is then...
Ronnie some deluded, although I have had the "pleasure" of paying to watch Shuker play.

Some midfielder 'names': some already linked, some holding type, some creative: Carl Fletcher (West Ham) Adam Johnson (Midds) Jonathan Douglas (Blackburn) Andy Hughes (Norwich) Shaun Derry (Leeds) Gareth Williams (Leicester) Bjarn Gudjonsson (Plymouth) Kieran Parker (Blackpool) Mark Hudson (Hudds) Kris Commons (Forest) Lee Williamson (Rotherham) Michael McIndoe (Donc)
Jacob Burns! We are looking for Burns' replacement. Which means we will be looking for McPhail and Shukers replacements around christmas and we have saved the wages of Carbon, Conlon and Vaughan whilst only signing Coulson. We need more
RE: From the Barnsley Star: "Shuker's departure has left a vacancy in midfield on the right-hand side. Ritchie believes Martin Devaney, Paul Hayes or Tony McParland can fill in there." Who'll be playing on the left then if Devaney fills in on the right?
RE: From the Barnsley Star: Mcparland wasnt deemed worthy enough to always be in the squad for the league 1 fixtures nevermind the Championship.
We are going to be very light in cover throughout the squad. How are we are going to find the 3 players to loan to Scarborough when we don't have enough for our squad?
mcparland he'll probably come back a better player next season, along with tommy wright. both players didn't seem to read what their team mates were trying to do. a decent pre-season of working hard and they'll develop a better understanding.
Lest we forget Dale Tonge.. well capable of doing a job in midfield and will be fit which is more than I can say about Kell
Is that the same Garteh Williams Machin signed? He must be pushing 40 by now.
Still he will add that experience everyone seems to want.

Different fella Hart had him at Forest the season they made the playoffs, then went to Leicester, scored a few from midfield, good player.
Ronnie Moore When Shuker soon realises what an arsehole he is behind the scenes off camera and sees the things he gets up to then he will realise he should have done more to stay with us.
