Scene Setting: - There are 25 minutes remaining in a local derby game. Snow is coming down heavily and there is a heavy, swirling wind. Both sides have resorted, necessarily in the conditions, to a diet of almost entitrely long ball. Taqckles are flying in - make no mistake about it - this is an old fashioned battle. Your main target man, who has worked tirelessly and caused problems yet true to his poor scoring record has struggled to threaten a goal, starts to look jaded and it becomes apparent you need to make a change.

Fortunately, you have striking options on the bench. Do you bring on:

    a) Your 6ft 1 Hungarian target man, who you know is the hardest grafting player in the club, to win a share of the long ball that is coming your way, in a pretty much like for like swap for a tactic which has seen your team be the dominant side in the game.

    b) Your young hungry English striker, who will struggle in the air but with his keen-ness and willingness to fight for a place will run the channels and provide an alternative outlet.

    c) Your on loan striker who, while a gifted finisher, in the conditions is unlikely to win any of the long ball coming his way and will remain in the middle, a forlorn figure waiting fruitlessly for quality supply to come from a midfield that has by now become entirely bypassed due to the conditions and opposition.

I have just entered this scenario into the "game changer section" at www.coachmantactics.com. I know its cheating to pick the brains of the genius but i couldnt help myself.

It told me to that (C) is the choice to be made.

    Is that correct?

Congratulations - you have won a six week FA residential course

Knowing nothing about football, I was screaming for (a) to happen. We can't all be experts, can we?

    And then...

he put him on the wing when Leon was withdrawn.

Nardiello beat more men and put in more crosses mind. But Leon had a shot from 25 yards.
