Many years ago watching the reds i use to go with a mate of mine, we use to stand in the old Brewery end on the half way line. Has teenagers then we use to laugh and get horse with shouting at the Reds. Many of us can remember, when the Reds scored and you were pushed to the wall and nearly squashed to death. But these things were unimportant when the Reds won. My mate Roy use to have a very loud voice and his great shout when the team exploded onto the field was "Come on me Babies",it always got great applause from the fans around us and his voice i am convinced use to penetrate the very hairs on the players necks, and give them confidence to win. In fact at that time Allen Clarke came in as manager and we won the first 6 games in the old 4th division with crowds reaching 12 and 13 thousand, needless to say we won promotion that year. Roy is no longer with us, he died in a tragic car crash many years ago, but his ashes are scattered on the Oakwell ground and i am sure like many loyal fans who are no longer with us that come tomorrow, he and many more will be shouting the reds to victory. COME ON ME BABIES.
Good post Reckon there's a few folks feeling like that. I'll be shouting "Come on me Babies" pre k.o. in honour of your mate. U Reds. (worship)
