think i may have a virus, or a programme installed on my computer that should not be there. basically it keeps popping up from the bottom right next to the clock saying that my computer is under threat and people have access to my details. when i click on the little icon that is now there it brings up a internet page, wanting me to buy some anti virus software. basically i cant get rid of this icon (or dont know how to). any ideas? also how do you do that thing where you change to settings of your pc to a different date, say a week ago? thanks
try installing a program called Superantispyware.com download free version. It got rid of same thing for me. or try AVG antispyware download free version and away you go
update the superantispyware programme was good, and got rid of a lot of harmful stuff....but i still have the main problem of this virus that is still on. when i open up my windows explorer a page comes up with the homepage www.yourieprotect.com and i cannot seem to get off of this, i do not know how to get rid of these virus. i do not know if it is a programme that has installed its self onto my computer? any help i would be very grateful
try running this http://www.ewido.net/en/ there is a free web based version just click the link top left this gets rid of most malware
Change homepage go to tools, internet options and change homepage. Next time you nopen up internet explorer you should go to new homepage.
You have clicked on a link somewhere which ahs installed spyware on your pc other people are right in saying that you can get software to block this but it wont get rid of it. To get rid of this is a long and painfull process which requires you to enter the registry and should only be done by someone who knows what they are doing. The other alternative is to relosd windows by formatting your hard drive if you try and restore your pc to an earlier date it will not do any good. I wish you all the best with your problems sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
Dont get cocky http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/6187302.stm Probably only gonna get worse for Mac users. Mind you, they'll always be safer than Windows based machines!
