This season has been utter toilet. The summer transfer window. The mass upheaval of losing what seemed like anything that moved. The lack of comms when our CEO just happened to vanish for a bit and turn up at Forest with the club secretary. The delay in getting someone in to replace him that has turned out to be pretty hopeless. Losing our head physio and goalkeeper coach. Two poor coach appointments and the lack of support for the first one in terms of a coaching team. Visas. The West Stand. Losing, no.... forcing away... 161 season ticket holders for no reason. The mystical creation of capacity in the away end just as we get some significant away followings. The opacity of what was actually wrong with the West stand. The penny pinching transfer window suggestion cash flow worries. Kane and Sibbick in particular. The insipid error riddled football. The toothless displays. The lack of idea or intent. The passive approach to coaching. The nonsense interviews, the lack of answers, the sheer frustration of hearing "I don't know" half a dozen times every interview. The increasing sight, game by game, of Barnsley FC appearing in white on the East stand lower signifying the vanishing of more of the 11,000 paid up season ticket holders. The messages of life long fans saying no more. The disputes between owners, the silence. The league position. The loss of hope. The feeling that the only people who care at the club are likely on the least money. That our CEO's get circa £140k while having no experience, while we lean on young interns who get paid expenses... who have no experience. There's more, I'm sure, but the senses dull over time and you can only take so much before it just all merges into a sea of brown putrid excrement masquerading as the 21/22 season for Barnsley Football Club. It's hard to imagine it getting worse. Hard to wonder where the next punch might come from this year. And then a small minority of "fans" take it upon themselves to vandalise our home and threaten the people who are there to help. I wish this was rock bottom, but I fear its going to get worse.
I agree with calling these people out for moronic, pointless behavior. Several posters have expressed such sentiments better than I could. As an aside I also think their handwriting is dreadful!!!
Totally agree with that sum up - and you can add discussions with other clubs about a move away from Oakwell.
There's no 80% consortium! There's only a 100% consortium. 20% of which is owned by the previous owner (the rest of the shares are a mystery)
I think we were being warned abart this season when us season tickets dint scan, we shud av called time on it at that point.
And the scoreboard. I thought it would be like going back to school after the summer, all clean and tidy with brand new exercise books. Instead it was more like the end of the school year.
Dear Paul, When Khaled takes the fall, I'll do it for £100k, no experience of being a CEO, but I do have buying experience for a well known discounter, so this should come in handy. CV attached. Cheers
