Have to say that 1st Half - We looked like a team who wa out on piss night before 2nd Half - Totally different team, we looked Fantastic Play like we did 2nd half all season and i reckon we could finish top 10
Lol Think back to all the games we got nothing more than a point out of where we looked like we belonged in the top ten. Our problem last year was making life difficult for ourselves and aren't we back to our old ways? No changes preseason = no change. Same bloke calling the shots, largely the same squad to pick from (other than the lads he has let go of). Don't get me wrong - it's remarkable to dig ourselves out of the **** at Hilsborough from 2-0 down - great news - but let's not do what we did last season where we celebrated our 'moral victories'. They don't count for anything more than a point. Derby County - played them off the park for ninety minutes, murdered them 0-0. Watford away - all over them, they weren't in it until a last minute gift from our defence and keeper - 1-1. Nottingham Forest at home the same - take the lead only to give it away. Wolves at home - fantastic performance against a really top side, 1-0 up only to give it away. You can add the others yourself. We've got to be more hard-nosed about these situations this season - it's a point on the table. Pragmatically better than nothing, but we should never have put ourselves in a position where we had to claw the game back from a 2-0 deficit in the first half. If we do what we did last year and specialise in taking points we'll be in the same **** position we were at the end of last season. It's a relief to see us show the spirit that brought us back from two-nil down, and a great credit to the players and the manager.
Unlikely! Like everybody has said we seem to have played half a good match today and ended up with one point when we might have got all three, or none at all. Nobody should be unhappy with a draw though after being 2-0 down so early. Let's hope we don't make a habit of it though. With what's expected in this week, and what we have already, I'm willing to add my optimism for this season. I think we will do ok, and Simon Davey will get the credit for it. Maybe, just maybe, given time he will become a good manager. Hard to see it yet, but it just might happen.
