bet he's gutted not to get picked for the Euro's especially when Jack Wilshire has not played all season but gets picked. Feel sorry for him
Absolute joke. No love for watching Emgland. And it's because of decisions like this. Hodgson is a dick. Only reason I hope we do well is to put some coin in the boozers coffers.
Wilshire is a better player and because he's hardly played all season will be much fresher. Just need to make sure he keeps fit long enough to make the impact we all know he can.
He should be in front of them all. Wilshere has been injured all season, Barkley has been piss poor and the Liverpool contingent haven't been as good as Drinkwater. There's only Dele Alli you could argue has had a better season. Not counting Eric Dier as he's the obvious holding midfielder. Drinkwater is the only player in that original squad that gives a proper balance in midfield allowing the wingers to bomb forward alongside Dele Alli. Henderson, Wilshere and Barkley must be sucking both Woy and Lewington off throughout the full tournament. The way Mark Noble has been treated is even worse!
Think it's dafter Townsend not going as our only natural wide player. Now we either play all narrow or have people out wide not in their natural position.
I'm baffled why everyone seems to be saying 'he's picked Drinkwater over Wilshere'. I've got both in my starting 11 never mind squad. I can't understand why it's not 'Henderson picked over Drinkwater'. Henderson's been bang average all season & is also only just coming back from injury. And let's not forget that James Milner out performed him for Liverpool in central midfield this season so he should be well down the pecking order
Me too - Henderson not even close to Drinkwater in performances this season even when he has been fit Whilshire is a gamble but I can see why Roy would take it but for sure leaving out Henderson instead would have been a lot more sensible to me
