    Dave Whelan isn't thick. I'm sure Wigan will be covered for misdemeanours by players that stops them from playing for their club - no doubt Whelan will recoup a fair chunk of transfer fee and wages. I don't think for a minute this is a holier than thou stance.

    True and suppose you cant really expect his agent to put him down it was the bit about his rights that got me , its a shame King doesnt seem to care very much about other peoples rights

    I don't get it

    Why on earth would Whelan want to continue to pay King's wages when he is going to be without his services for 18 months?

    He's had something of a chequered past (to say the least), yet Wigan were quite happy to set him on this first place. Should they be surprised that things have come to this...?

    yeah just heard his agent on the radio saying he will only serve about 3 months and that anyone who is released after a 3 month appealed sentence is free to carry on with their life. He seems to have forgotten about his 17 other convictions!

    His comments about McDonalds

    are a bloody disgrace. What makes him think McDonalds would want to employ a serial offender who is violent towards women and clearly has anger problems? Insult to the lads & lasses that would love 40k a week but end up making McDonalds a career and have to serve ***** like him as they stumble out of clubs. I do hope he avoids any bother inside...
