    According to Wiki

In early August in 2007, Southend rejected a £250,000 bid from Barnsley for Campbell-Ryce, though he finally completed his move to Barnsley on the deadline day for an undisclosed fee.

Cant see it being lower than 250,000.

If anything with a previous 250,000 bid being rejected, on deadline day he must have upped the ante.

I think an initial bid of £250,000 was rejected, a second bid of about £175,000 was rejected because Campbell-Ryce was set on coming here, he got the monk on and Southend were forced to sell on deadline day for a lowly amount of £150,000. Great bit of business by us it has to be said.

Why would Hammill be in a list of best signings? He's only been here two minutes. Far too early for him to be in such a list.

Toss poll this.. How can we do a poll on his best signing without Foster? Current player of the season and in my opinion Davey's best signing.

I'll get him to edit the title to "Best signing other than Foster"

Cos we all know Fozzy is Daveys best signing.

We paid £100K for him and Ritchie had offered him a contract

the previous season. So not really spotted by Davey at all! All hats back on I think.</p>
