RE: Davey's biggest mistake! - Mastermind game It is mindboggling, but the way Davey goes about picking our defence it reminds me of that Mastermind game from the 1970s, where you had to pick the four pegs in the right order along the line. Common concensus (not everyone but a clear majority I'd say) is that the best/most natural back four (from what we've got) is (r to l):- Hassell Foster Souza Kozluk So far Davey has gone:- Guess 1 (QPR) - 1 right, 1 in the wrong place and 2 wrong Guess 2 (Coventry) - 1 right, 2 in the wrong place and 1 wrong Maybe at the current rate he'll have got it right by guess 7, although I think it was probably game over after six guesses!
Davey's biggest mistake is not rectifiying our biggest problem last season ie: A set of forwards capable of scoring goals! This ultimately lead to his downfall before the end of September
The centre of defence wasn't exposed for a lack of pace yesterday, the goals came from 2 individual mistakes, Steel for the first and Hassall for the second.
Both goals were hassels fault in my opinion, he ducked under the cross for the first when eastwood was behind me and then obviously for the second he was hopeless.
I think most would agree Kosluk is better than Hassall. It seems strange that Warnock thinks the world of him but Davey can't get on with him.
RE: where the **** was foster for both? The second goal came from a set piece Foster had gone up for, Hassall made a mess of the punt up field and was at fault. I wouldn't have blamed him for the first though or Foster.
RE: where the **** was foster for both? Watch the goals again, Hassel ducks a good foot under the ball instead of dealing with it, the ball goes to eastwood who scores. Hassel puts it out for a corner like a good full back would and they dont score that goal
Pissing money up the wall by buying players and then not playing them for what we are led to believe are personal differences. Madness.
Funny how you miss the glaring mistakes on the day But from the 'highlights' Hassel made two to gift them the goals. (doh) (doh)
What about Foster, Steele, Souza and Moore?
You can lay some off the blame at their feet. You could add Devaney to that list too.
To blame Hassell is just ignoring the contribution of the rest of the defence.

Agreed It was a combination of errors nobody closed them down for either and Steel missread the first.
