    What managers say when contracts and transfers are being negotiated

    should be taken with a pinch of salt. If anything has strengthened my belief that Flitcroft actually knows what he is doing is his decision not to play Alnwick. Just hope Pollitt proves to be a better understudy than Preece.

    Alnwick isn't match sharp enough apparently... So why not play him in the under 21's?

    Ben must feel great this morning, not trusted to step in for an out of form Steele. At least he's picking up his money for doing sod all... sorry... 'keeping fit'
