Good to see a keeper come off his line. Defence should have done better when he saved the first shot for goal one. The second one he was very brave going for it to be knocked out. Colgan wouldn't have been that far off his line in a month of sundays.
Course it is, its bleeding magic watching a keeper come well off his line and not get the ball, which results in Derby scoring in a empty net. IDIOT! Maybe if he'd have stayed on his line they wouldn't have scored.
Every word correct. I don't like to see players injured and feel for the lad tonight, but the fact remains that, in my opinion, he should have held the first one, and should have never come for the second in the first place. If you come 16 yards off your line you HAVE to be SURE that the ball is yours - there is no room for error. He cost us the game today imo. I know that we were second best on quality of play but at the end of the day it's goals that win or lose games and he cost us both of them.
He was totally at fault for the second goal And you could argue he should have kept hold of the ball for the first one. Don't know how you can applaud that.
RE: He was totally at fault for the second goal He can applaud that because he's talks aload *****! (2gay)
To be fair to David Lucas, he hasn't even been playing in the reserves has he? I think both goals were errors of judgment and that's a direct result of not playing any games for over 12 months. Why didn't Simon give him a few games in the reserves first?
One thig if for sure - if it was Colgan who had not held the first and Colgan who had come miles off his line and not got the ball for the second then he would be receiving a real fecking sledging now on here, and he would have had one at the game as well - but because it's Lucas there wasn't a peep.
Thought he made good save for 1st - but as usual defenders didn't react We were too slow to close the ball down. 2nd goal was a bad (but brave) choice to punch - forget the goal - he could've killed himself.
Re: David Lucas.. Agree at fault for 2nd but first was a good stop, don't blame him for not holding it at point-blank range.
***** defending cost us that one - as usual.
We only defended decently when Reidy went off.

RE: Thought he made good save for 1st - but as usual defenders didn't react very bad choice imo - you cannot come 16 yards to punch the ball un less you can punch as far as others can kick it - if it drops to one of theirs, its an open goal - that's exactly what happened. cost us a point in the final reckoning.
Utter Rubbish.... Defence should have done better with first but.... Colgan has been saving those all season....no problem, part of the problem was he came off his line !!! 2nd totally wrong to come for the ball with so many defenders around and when he did he had no conviction...did not come out with power or height or his knee up...... He made 2 bad decisions today and they cost us 2 goals Bad call by Davey to play him.
RE: Utter Rubbish.... I entirely disagree with regards to the first goal. If he'd stayed on his line, the guy who hit the initial shot would have walked it in. He came out and did something about this, although he perhaps could have done more, and was resultantly stranded for the rebound.
As for the second goal I am trying to work out whether he lost consciousness as a result of a collision or merely as a sequel to the immense cranial malfunction that told him to storm out to the edge the edge of the crowded penalty area in the first place!

He was expected back at the club within an hour or so When davey did his interview on radio sheffield. Sounds like he's just got concussion
Thought Lucas did well for the 1st, came out to smother the 1st shot, it was point blank range so cant blame him for not holding it. Rebounded off him and as usual it was an opposition player who reacted the quickest. Cant wait to see it again on tv as I think the shot might have sneaked past the post but it went through Hecky and the little touch he did get diverted it in. As for the 2nd it was a bad decision to come for the ball so far out. There was a defender under it and he should have just stayed on his line. He probably had in the back of his mind all the stick that Colgan takes for staying put.
Well........ I think considering he was making his full debut against the top of the league at home, he did well to only let in one more goal than a much better team. Maybe he should have time wasted at every opportunity like Bywater did. Would Lucas be getting so much stick if Kyel Reid hadn't had his shot saved? We might have got a draw then. Goalkeepers are the easiest position on the field to have a go at. Difference between him and Colgan would be if Colgan had have let them in yesterday it would have been a let down after all the experience he's got. Lets not get on our keepers back after one start. Two matches and not played 90 in either don't forget.
After that 2nd I said, I hope that shuts up the people who have a go at Colgan for not coming out. No point him coming out like that if it results in us conceding.
