Just signed up to this board today after reading over the weekend, seems one of the better boards around. Good honest craic (except for DB3000!!).

Probably post on here a lot in future. Although i'm an SAFC fan, hope you give me a good S. Yorksire welcome!!

    :)

We could throw things at you.

But, the majority of us have brain cells, so welcome.

welcome mate. Cant argue with the result on saturday your mob were a class above and deserved the points, just hoping we've got enough in our locker to stay up which im doubting more and more by the week.

I will say one thing about sunderland though, very heavy handed stewarding i even got told to sit down when i wanted to go for a piss earlier this season

Thanks lads. Always liked Barnsley, was one of my first away games when i was about 14. 3.50 entry. Looked like a cow shed one of the stands and we got beaten 2-1!! Also lived in Sheffield for a year about 10 years ago, while working at Meadowhall, and took in the odd game every now and then.

What's it like to work in Meadowhell?

It's bad enough shopping there during "leisure" time, nevermind actually having to go there to make money.

Did you come to Oakwell when Malcolm Shotton scored a wind assisted volley on a friday night in front of the away end? That is the Sunderland moment that sticks with me the most.

It was a living at the time mate, I was only 19 or 20. Life experience though!! Quite liked Sheffield, although there was not much there. Don't know if it's changed much. Found S. Yorks people very friendly.

I was in the Outpost on Saturday. Yes there were loads of your fans and they were noisey, but it all seemed good humoured. Talked to a couple who werefine, shook hands then I went to the match.

Listen mate, if your lot hadn't turned up we'd be over £100k worse off so as far as I'm concerned you're welcome

I got dragged shopping there a few times last season(and once this season) instead of going to match, not happy at all! Always had bad experiences...too many children running around for my liking.

We had a good laugh with loads of Sunderland fans in the Gatehouse pub before the match, can't say a bad word against them.

Too young for Coopermans third in a 3 - 0 win about '89 then?

    What a goal and celebration!

    £100k?

Is that what we worked it out as? :D

No it was before that. It was around 1990 when we were both vying for the play offs if i remember rightly, it was a Tuesday or Wed, as I say you beat us 2-1 I'm sure. The game you are on about was when Dominic Matteo turned out for us in his one and only game on loan from Liverpool.

I hate Meadowhell! Just busy all the time, like a cattle market lol! Although the bullring in brum is no better, smaller, but still as packed. I refuse to go there on a Sat cos it's just crazy! Besides, I would rather be at the footie!

    Is it true?

That at age 14 in Sunderland instead of a barmitzvah you have to bum a dog as a coming of age ceremony?
