We have got to give this lad a chance, I, like many others watched him against Colchester and although he did nothing special, he also did'nt do a lot wrong, it was obvious that nerves were effecting his game, playing a square ball or a backward ball, ( the easy option) rather than trying to slide a perfect through ball to one the strikers, to me a lack of confidence, no more. I felt absolutely gutted for the lad when he was taken off to cheers and jeers, sitting in the West stand I could clearly see the hurt on his face, confidence is a fragile thing and two or three games into his Barnsley career is'nt the time to shatter his. HAVE A NICE WEEKEND :$
totally agree... ...mattis was not the worst player on the park on setdi. that was a toss up between disco (got the ball, ran the wrong direction, gave it away) and eckerslike (oh, pass to a RED shirt?!?!?) maybe i'm a bit unfair on devaney, knowing he's capable of much more made him seem worse than he was.
I am in complete agreement, there were many bad performances and the boo boys have it in for Mattis. Worst player for me was Bobby Hassell, because he is usually so good, but our current form seems to have taken its toll on him. Devaney had his few games of trying after being dropped, now gone lazy again. i really hope Mattis turns out to be decent, why should any Barnsley fan want otherwise
