Taking the Bury squad to St George's Park for three days. And he's 'videoing' training, so he knows exactly what each player is capable of.
Thank God he's left. And contrast that idea with Danny's.
"not interested in how good they are in training, it's in a game where you see what the players are capable of.."

Give in a month and the will be training at Carrington alongside Man Utd's players.

Who can't fail to be motivated training there alongside some of there players.

I think it's something Wilsons wrong with Whitey, it DOES matter how they train.

And to be fair what hes doing is what ALL the top teams in the world do. It showed you them at Tottenham and They Video EVERY session and GPS EVERY player.

It's something that Footballs taken from Cricket where they Video every session, GPS every player and record every ball a bowler bowls or a batter faces.

Has Wilson actually said 'it doesn't matter how they train'?

I heard him say something along the lines of the proof is in the pudding when its matchday. It suggested to me that he thinks it's all well and good doing well in training, but if you don't play well on a matchday it doesn't matter. I'm sure on the whole, the best trainers play better on matchdays, but this is not always the case. I think you might have grasped the wrong end of the stick.

It did last season Mark, and it was the players that said it was a good thing. Getting away from Oakwell along with the GPS tracking ....

We have been doing it more this season and it has not worked at all, so maybe last year was a freak ?

Yes Al Danny has alsaid that training counts for nowt. He'll have played with some top players who trained **** but were great when it mattered. As for HT saying that Danny Wilson has got something wrong!! Excuse me young un, but he didn't get much wrong last time. I think I'll take Danny's side on this one.

Sorry but hes not mourinho or Guardiola, The latter of which puts a great amount on training. Keeps is training to about 20 players so they train at 100% like they would in matches.

He went on to say he'd seen some great trainers, but they weren't up to it come game day. Rather players learn from their mistakes on the training field than on the pitch during the 90mins.

To be fair i'd not call them managers great. Even you could win stuff as manager of Barcelona and Bayern.

Phil I really do not give a flying frig about what happens at other clubs under other managers, if the manager of Barnsley FC says that`s how he wants to do it , then it is OK by me. We have tried the "modern" way of doing it and it has failed this season, it has put us on the bottom of the league. Yet somehow you seem to think its a great idea. Lets see how we go doing it the Wilson way eh ?

No he's not those blokes HT, he's Danny fecking Wilson who took Barnsley FC to the Premier League on 750k. Some of the greatest ever players have been "poor trainers" but they've done the business on a match day. You can keep your Mourinho, Guardiola ****** for me HT. No wonder you fell for all of Flickers bilge. Football is more than what Sky Sports tells you it is pal.

Paul McGrath was always a poor trainer. Later in his career he didn't train at all. Still class, even with 2 dodgy knees.

Lets talk about players that play today, now. Fitness levels have to be the best they've ever been so lets talk now. We aren't playing in the past. The players have to play now we've got.
